Christopher Geiger is an incisive and value-focused corporate executive and accomplished board director. He is a creative and diplomatic thought leader who fosters cross-disciplinary innovation and thrives on complexity and ambiguity. Christopher rapidly identifies and understands obscure and novel issues - and then develops and implements appropriate strategies. He advocates for risk-based cyber security, accountable governance and fiscal practices, and an ethically compliant business culture. He frequently publishes and speaks on emerging topics at the intersection of risk, cybersecurity, innovation, and finance.
Christopher has over twenty years of technology, financial, audit, risk and resilience experience. During his tenure at Lockheed Martin, a Fortune 100 global aerospace and defense company, he has held leadership positions of increasing responsibility across Engineering, Product Development, Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and Venture Capital.
Currently, Christopher is the Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Vice President at Lockheed Martin where he leads global internal audit operations including financial, operational, governance, and IT audits; enterprise risk governance; and related digital transformation. He is also the corporate secretary for the Lockheed Martin Ventures Investment Committee, the company's $400M Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) investment vehicle. Previous to this role, Christopher was Enterprise Risk Director responsible for stewarding the enterprise risk management and long-term resilience corporate function. His experience at Lockheed Martin also includes the successful technical management of major aerospace and defense programs, guiding organizational process improvement, and the leadership of multi-site engineering functional organizations.
In addition, he is board chair of MidFlorida Credit Union, a financial institution with $8+ billion in assets and chaired the audit committee for a decade at Martin Federal Credit Union (later merged into MidFlorida Credit Union); a board member for the IEEE Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to transforming lives through the power of technology and education; and chair of the International Astronautical Federation Enterprise Risk Management Committee, a forum for risk management practitioners in the space, defense, and aerospace sectors. Christopher is also a former local elected official in Florida and served on governmental advisory boards relating to emergency planning and housing.
Christopher has a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Florida. He also earned board governance certificates from Harvard University, University of Oxford, and the National Association of Corporate Directors. Christopher carries multiple professional certifications including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Professional Engineer (PE), and Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
